The Exceptional Presentations session was one of the most impactful training experiences I've had - and I say that as someone who delivers training for a living. What sets Baker apart is the practice-critique-repeat loop: being video recorded, receiving basically a mini-one-on-one and group coaching, and immediately applying the feedback made the learning tangible and lasting. The E.P.I.C. structure gave me a framework I can use across contexts - from executive briefings to team presentations to onboarding training programs (CAST). Understanding my communication style (Doer Dominant) was a real eye-opener for me: it validated my strengths in driving action while highlighting that I need to meet my audience where they are. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to move from "good presenter" to truly impactful communicator. Thank you, Baker Communications Team! // As a improvement point, I'd like to suggest to share with the group upfront "How To Give Feedback" about the individual presentations (snippets). This may help the broad group to give feedback professionally, helping others grow, and for themselves, practicing giving feedback.
“Was a perfect class and brilliantly executed. I like trainings like this for how they are setup. The instructor is because they follow so well. You are in a room mostly full of colleagues you have never met before and we all at various points of the session have to break up into separate groups (mixed up each time) to allow us to collaborate with each other and share ideas. So we listen and learn for say 1 hour, break off into small groups, reconvene and discuss, break, another similar exercise and then repeat throughout the day. This structure for me personally is perfect for learning and the engagement and content of the lesson is very fun and interactive. All done at a good pace also. The trainer is extremely well spoken and thorough with the information they convey to us the audience - again perfect for us to learn and implement into our day to day jobs.”
Enrolling in the time management course has been a game-changer for me. Before attending, I often felt overwhelmed by competing priorities and tight deadlines. The course provided practical strategies and tools that I was able to implement immediately, allowing me to organize my workload more efficiently and reclaim valuable time each day. The instructor's guidance was clear, actionable, and supportive, making complex concepts feel accessible. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on setting realistic goals, prioritizing tasks, and learning how to break large projects into manageable steps. These skills have not only improved my productivity at work but also brought a greater sense of balance to my personal life. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to make the most of their time and achieve their goals with less stress.
The training session was very informative and practical. The instructor explained the concepts clearly and used relevant examples that made the content easy to understand and apply to daily work. The class was engaging and well organized, which helped create a positive learning environment throughout the session. Thank you for organizing this valuable training. It provided useful insights and improved my understanding and confidence in the topic. I appreciate the effort from both the trainer and the team, and I look forward to applying what I learned in future work activities.
“The instructor was very engaging and presented the material well. Even though this was a customer service focused program it lent to other gaps within our business. Having other departments participate gave everyone a better understanding of how individuals process and handle issues. It gave a idea of the challenges they face and provided an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the end goal and how we can be better on getting there. The training was very eye opening and I really enjoyed it. Thank you!”
Thoroughly enjoyed the class, it brought me out of my comfort zone & I learned a great deal of techniques as well as better understanding other's behaviour. I was able to form stronger bonds with members of my team who I didn't know very well beforehand & will take the strategies away to use in everyday life as well as the work environment. The instructor was absolutely brilliant, so enthusiastic and made sure everyone understood each topic whilst making everyone feel at ease.
“Our time with the instructor was extremely impactful. He kept us fully engaged and moved through the content at just the right pace. What I enjoyed most about the week was learning more about myself and learning the tools I need to better understand my team and how to lead them more effectively. The instructor was a fantastic sherpa. For anyone looking to be a more effective leader, I would highly recommend taking this class.”
This course truly helped me with understanding how to properly tailor my writing to the intended receiver. While simultaneously understanding the importance of tonality in my writings. Tone is something I haven't paid to as much seeing as it is very hard to get it across digitally but a conscious effort should be placed on my end.
“The class was amazing and very informative. The instructor was very personable and made the class fun. I feel as though the class is geared toward the current work force issues with employees & their feelings. The days are long gone where an employee would come in and do their job and check their feelings at the door.”
“This workshop helped me realize that dealing with difficult people starts with me understanding what my personality bent adds to or detract from dealing with difficult people. When I encounter a difficult the outcome starts and ends with me.”
“The instructor went above and beyond my expectations and covered everything that we had talked about when we planned the presentation. He clearly knows what our audience, people new in their careers, need to hear to be set up for success.”
The class was really informative and it shed light on my own strengths and weaknesses - highlighting both only encourages growth! There were several great tips on how to EFFEVTIVELY communicate with others in different 'quadrants'. The world is full of different people and understand the strengths and weaknesses of others when it comes to communicating can only help process the point or goal you're trying to attain. Even if that means getting our of your own comfort zone to help others.
This training was well developed and informational. Activities were laid out to allow for open dialogue and feedback from all individuals. So many times these trainings end up being lectures and result in the trainees losing interest. Job well done by the instructor and the Baker team.
The instructor was wonderful and very engaging. Did a great job at talking about how negotiations specifically benefitted each of us individually. I believe having a smaller group was an advantage to having more personalized training. I would recommend keeping smaller group because I would not have been able to have the same personalized benefit in a large group setting.
“I enjoyed the exercises, questions that asked me to think of how I am communicating was helpful. Most of the time we don't really evaluate ourselves in situations, we just want our result. I think it is helpful to see things in a different way to get better results. I did enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and spending time with other people in our organization.”
“I am generally apprehensive when attending training/leadership/coaching sessions but felt more relaxed and actually enjoyed participating in these sessions. A huge thanks to the instructor for keeping us all at ease and keeping the lessons fun but still meaningful and thought-provoking.”
“This training provided me tools to identify areas of opportunity for improvement as a participant and a leader. I appreciate the breakdown of attendees and how to get a pregame in for those that might be problematic, disengaged, non supoortive of afenda and or topics.”
“This class has been very insightful and informational. I must say I have benefited a lot more than I anticipated. The instructors have been very excellent at carrying the information across and engaging each one of us on the various topics.”
The instructors were instrumental to helping make our class a success. They are like the dynamic duo!!! For me personally, the time leading up to this class was filled with angst and trepidation as public speaking is on my list of top 5 fears. The instructors made the process more manageable and gave everyone the appropriate boosts of confidence tailored to what their personality needed the most. The instructor had the best memory and remembered some of the most minor details about each one of us and often brought them up during class. The instructor gave us really imperative feedback in such a positive and thought provoking manner. I'm so thankful for my time with them both. And if they get to see this......... "But wait, there's more!" Thank you again for this opportunity!
I have been struggling with conflict management and didn't know it. I mean I knew I wanted to be "nicer" in my actions and thoughts but I didn't realize the connection with conflict. I believed conflict was equivalent to arguments. And while there is some truth to that, it's not entirely that. I realized the importance of flection and examples of how to implement that personally and professionally. Truly thank you for a much needed wake up call.
Great way to view time management through a different way. Identifying my type of behavioral style allowed me to rethink the behavioral styles of others I work with frequently on a day to day basis (boss, direct reports, rig crew members, etc.) by understanding their behavioral style, I can adjust my method of approach to maximize communication and effectiveness with them.
“The presentation was incredibly tailored to keeping me engaged. It was exciting to learn new aspects to presenting infront of clients. I personally gained a new way to format my emails. The instructor also provided specific advice to me about a client I have been trying to reach. Also, the instructor's music selection is top notch.”
Felt like it was more of a group think tank than an actual class. I understand needing active participation for the sake of practicing soft skills (and maybe this is just me being the problem as I prefer to do lecture style trainings instead of constant comfort zone breaking activities) but I was kind of hoping more for learning techniques and taking notes on elevated customer service. Maybe live examples through video/audio would have helped expand upon utilizing the techniques for real life.
Great overall course. Could probably have been fitted into one day instead. Most of the content was very useful and the roleplaying were good. The one connected to robotics could be adapted with more information and the task could be more clear in some of the roleplays with what you want to get out of the deal and what you should see as a win rather than all roleplays having a satisfying win/win feeling no matter how good you did.
I think we may not have been ready for the implementation of tools on some levels but it started to open the group to discussing how to move the culture towards that direction. The instructor did very well navigating all the emotions, struggles and unspoken needs of rebuilding trust. He slowed the pace to refocus on what was needed more than just what was on the agenda. I really appreciate the care and candor.
I'd never been exposed to the four behavioral styles and think it's the most useful style assessment/orientation I've encountered. I'm hoping everyone in our organization can take the assessment and learn about their to enhance internal communication.
I believe this program shows skills a leader should have and already using in real work. I am pretty sure we have been using from time to time, but maybe not in a consistent manner. I like some of the templates used along the training and I would like to have a copy to use in the future.
This was a very good course, with just the right amount of information and interactivity. The instructor was excellent; I genuinely felt that there were useful tools and techniques which could be taken back the the workplace.
I really don't like being put in a box but I am definitely a guardian by your definition. The thing is, once others identify you as a guardian, they tend be shocked and/or offended when you step out of that box and try get on their level.
The instructor was an exceptional trainer who successfully kept the team engaged throughout the entire day. Despite the training being only one day long, the content comprehensively addressed both our internal communication challenges and external customer interactions. I am confident that the Customer Service team will apply the knowledge gained to enhance our customers' experience.
“The instructor was a fantastic presenter! He was full of energy, very well spoken, had a passion for seeing that the class learned all we could, including real life scenario's, he paced the classes as needed for comprehension and retention. It was an excellent experience!”
“The instructors provided the encouragement, positivity, and confidence to go out of my comfort zone and take chances to improve my presentation skills. The session was highly interactive and a breath of fresh air after a couple of years of not much in-person training.”
This is the most useful training I have ever received. It has been very dynamic and it will be useful for my real life situations. In addition, it allowed me to know myself better and other members of the company I interact with.
“The training was thoughtfully designed and well-executed. The instructor?s presentation style was engaging and approachable, and her calm, confident demeanor encouraged active listening. She offered valuable insights and practical strategies for improving time management.”
I found the course to be very well structured, and conducted at a relaxed but concise pace. The instructor was a great presented, well versed on the subject and had an engaging and personable delivery style which to added to the overall enjoyment of the course. Took away many learnings from the 2 days ...thank you.
Being able to take in both classes, enjoyed how the instructor was able to tailor the content to room and the varying behavioral styles. Other than our pilots we have not provided our non-pilot Team Members a lot of outside classes / training, it was exciting to see our Team engage and be open to leaning new skills. Overall a positive experience, the materials are on point, presented professionally with some fun and laughter mixed in.
“The instructor was great. I was very intimidated by the topic and she broke it down for me and eased me into the process in a way that helped me learn and apply in an environment that didn't make me shut down, giving constructive criticism and redirection.”
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the course, but the instructor, the trainer, was excellent and the "coaching" focused content will be very valuable to me moving forward. I would highly recommend this course.
“The class was great, I learned from it and will be using it in my everyday work. The instructor was fantastic, personal, kept everyone engaged and focused and I never got bored. The experience was positive in every way.”
Trainings like these have a tendency to be cheesy and annoying (even when the information being given is solid). The instructor was neither of these things. I was amazed at how engaging he kept two days worth of classes. And I learned a ton. Thanks so much!
I did walk away from the day feeling that I learned some things that I can use on a near daily basis. The presenter did a great job not only with her information, but getting the group involved and participating.
The instructor did a great job. He definitely inspires and keeps the attention of the employees. In the future, assuming the instructor is still with your company, I would want him to be the one sent to our bank.
