I‘ve been an athlete since I was a young boy and have continued the discipline of training and competing through my years. What I noticed is that sports athletes and very successful business pros have a lot in common. We could talk about this for hours, but I am going to focus on 2 key aspects today. What are the characteristics of a High Performance Business Athlete and what it takes to create a High Performance Organization & Environment?

  • Before the Game
    • Clarity of the vision and the goal
    • Commitment to prepare for the game – 2-a-days / practice and sacrifice
    • Gain competitive intelligence about the competition – how are they preparing to win?
    • Develop a game plan
    • Develop and enhance key skills that support the game plan – MMA – strikers vs. Grapplers
    • Know what resources and tools you have at your disposal to put into the game to help score points - Coach
